The 2 “Routine” Rules

Rule 1:

Stick to a routine it is a necessary part of life. Without it we lose our sense of a predictable existence. When this sense is lost or diminished we feel a proportionate amount of loss of control. When our sense of control falters our core of stability is eroded. It is the fear of this erosion that enables us to accept ”routine”.

Rule 2: Remember to break rule 1

James Mazur, behaviorial psychologist, has said that procrastination is a particular case of “impulsiveness” as opposed to self control.

  5. I have begun to regard procrastination as a vantage position from which I am patiently awaiting inspiration.

  6. so when are you gonna post again…. now you just comment and don’t post?

  7. Darin, thank you for that elemental perspective.

It will become my mantra and shield from Mike – the “routine” freak.

  8. How did you think I developed the concept in the first place? …like father like daughter.
